Uzbekistan and Russia discuss new migration regulations
Uzbekistan’s Minister of Internal Affairs Aziz Toshpulatov and Russia’s Minister of Internal Affairs Vladimir Kolokoltsev met in St. Petersburg to discuss new rules for migrants in Russia.
According to Kolokoltsev, foreign citizens who have violated the rules of stay in Russia will have the opportunity to restore their legal status until 10 September 2025.
The Russian Interior Minister also expressed hope that the Uzbek side would continue its information campaign to raise awareness among its citizens about these rules.
Kolokoltsev noted that the Russian government is paying special attention to regulating migration. In April, a department for citizenship and registration of foreign nationals was established within the structure of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, aimed at improving public administration in the migration sphere.
