Shavkat Mirziyoyev receives Japan’s Foreign Minister
On August 27, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a delegation led by Japanese Foreign Minister Takeshi Iwaya, who is on an official visit to Uzbekistan.

At the meeting, the parties discussed strengthening Uzbekistan–Japan strategic partnership relations and expanding multifaceted cooperation.
It was emphasized with satisfaction that active dialogue is continuing and practical cooperation is rapidly developing. The successful outcomes of today’s first meeting of the two countries’ foreign ministers within the Strategic Dialogue framework were highly valued.
Special attention was paid to deepening political dialogue and promoting concrete projects in trade, economy, investment, financial-technical cooperation, and cultural-humanitarian exchanges.

The sides voiced support for expanding the activities of the Uzbekistan–Japan Center and for future plans to establish a joint university with the participation of Japan’s leading universities on its basis.
The parties also exchanged views on issues of international and regional significance, including preparations for the upcoming Central Asia + Japan summit.
