The opening ceremony was held as part of the world summit “Investing in Children's Wellbeing: A Path to Sustainable and Equitable Development for Future Generations.” Uzbekistan’s First Lady Ziroat Mirziyoyeva, other first ladies attending the summit and senior guests took part in the event.

The center operates under the National Agency for Social Protection under the President of Uzbekistan. Specialists develop individual programs tailored to each child’s needs and advise parents on how to reinforce at home the skills their children acquire during sessions.

The preschool unit has 10 specialized groups for children aged 2 to 7. Outpatient rehabilitation services are available to children aged 2 to 18.

Services include therapeutic exercise, speech and fine motor skills development, sensory integration sessions, physiotherapy and other treatments. The center employs doctors from seven medical specialties, special education teachers, speech therapists, psychologists and rehabilitation specialists.

The Samarkand facility is the latest addition to the Imkon network, which also operates centers in Nukus, Kibray, Karshi and Zarafshan.

In 2025, the network’s facilities provided more than 546,000 treatments and therapy sessions, while 3,777 children received outpatient rehabilitation.

The network is set to expand further. Construction of a center has begun in Fergana, while similar facilities are planned for Namangan and Nurafshon in Tashkent region.
