Pension Fund rolls out Face ID system for cash recipients

Pensioners who receive their benefits in cash will now undergo biometric identification (Face ID) and confirm receipt of funds with an electronic signature. According to the Pension Fund, this system is aimed at preventing cases where payments are reported as “paid” in records but are not actually delivered to recipients or are handed over to someone else.

The Pension Fund reported that, starting from October, biometric identification (Face ID) is being used in the regions for pensioners receiving cash payments, with their signatures collected electronically.

“From now on, this process will help prevent situations where the People’s Bank reports pensions as ‘paid’ in official records while in reality the money is not given to the pensioner or is paid to another person,” the official statement said.

Earlier, the Executive Director of the Pension Fund, Murodbek Otajonov, confirmed that the government is considering a plan to raise the retirement age.
