Fergana has Uzbekistan's largest pensioner population, with one in eight residents receiving a pension

Data released by the ministry's press service show that the Pension Fund had 4,361,432 beneficiaries as of July 2026, representing more than 11% of Uzbekistan's population.

Of all pension recipients, 83% receive old-age pensions, while 11% receive disability pensions and the remaining 6% receive survivor's pensions.

The number of pensioners increased by 158,900, or 3.8%, between July 2025 and July 2026.

The average monthly pension currently stands at UZS 1.688 million, while the minimum pension amounts to UZS 878,000.

Fergana Region has the country's largest pensioner population, with 515,400 recipients. According to the ministry, this means one in every eight residents of the region receives a pension.

Overall, four regions – Fergana, Samarkand, Andijan and Kashkadarya – account for 41% of all pension recipients in Uzbekistan.

Syrdarya region has the smallest number of pensioners, with 111,300 recipients, or about 4.6 times fewer than Fergana.

The Ministry of Economy and Finance also projects that the average pension will continue to increase gradually over the coming years. It is expected to reach UZS 1.7 million by the end of 2026, UZS 1.8 million in 2027, UZS 1.9 million in 2028 and UZS 2.1 million by 2029.
