According to data from the National Statistics Committee, the increase was more modest after adjusting for inflation. An analysis using the Central Bank of Uzbekistan’s inflation calculator shows that the average pension gained about 21% in real terms over the period.
The average monthly pension stood at UZS 494,200 in 2016. It rose steadily over the following years, reaching UZS 556,800 in 2017, UZS 640,500 in 2018 and UZS 733,200 in 2019.
The figure increased to UZS 848,500 in 2020 and UZS 963,600 in 2021. In 2022, the average pension exceeded UZS 1 million, reaching UZS 1.08 million.
Growth continued in subsequent years, with the average monthly pension reaching UZS 1.23 million in 2023, UZS 1.5 million in 2024 and UZS 1.65 million in 2025.
To assess the change in purchasing power, the 2016 pension of UZS 494,200 was adjusted for consumer price inflation through December 2025 using the Central Bank’s calculator. On that basis, the 2016 amount would have been equivalent to about UZS 1.36 million in December 2025 prices.
The actual average pension in 2025 was UZS 1.649 million, meaning it was about 21% higher than the inflation-adjusted value of the 2016 pension. The Central Bank’s calculator uses monthly Consumer Price Index data compiled by the National Statistics Committee.
The figures show that while the nominal value of the average pension more than tripled over the decade, its purchasing power increased by a considerably smaller margin once cumulative inflation was taken into account.
