The parties agreed to implement a $500 million investment project to build a 200 MW hydroelectric power plant and upgrade existing substations.
The agreement is expected to expand cooperation in the energy sector in Andijan, introduce high-tech solutions, and develop new energy sources. In addition, by modernizing power grids and ensuring environmental sustainability, the region’s energy infrastructure will be further strengthened.
For reference, Sichuan Power Transmission & Transformation Construction is one of the leading companies in China and worldwide in the electricity supply sector.
It is worth noting that on December 13, 2024, at a ceremony at the International Congress Center, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev commissioned 18 new energy capacities worth $3.7 billion. These included four small hydroelectric power plant projects in the Andijan, Surkhandarya, and Tashkent regions.
