Central Bank reports sharp rise in fuel and utility prices in October
The Central Bank of Uzbekistan has released its October 2025 report detailing annual price changes for food, non-food products, and services, revealing significant contrasts in price dynamics across categories.

According to the data, non-food products showed mixed trends. Among the items that became cheaper were propane (-18.0%), A4 paper (-3.9%), large kitchen appliances (-3.5%), air conditioners (-1.3%), and televisions (-0.3%).
At the same time, several goods saw sharp price increases, led by wedding rings (+33.4%), methane gas (+30.5%), newspapers and magazines (+15.3%), and petrol (+11.7%). Prices for deodorants (+10.3%), natural flowers (+9.8%), cigarettes (+9.6%), and window glass (+8.7%) also rose.
Service prices showed similar divergence. While money transfer services (-4.8%) and microfinance services (-0.2%) became cheaper, the costs of domestic flights (+52.3%), pipeline gas (+39.2%), and cold water supply (+35.1%) surged sharply. Prices for museum services (+32.3%), waste collection (+28.6%), and liquefied gas (+25.0%) also increased notably. Meanwhile, the cost of mobile internet, insurance, and education at state universities remained unchanged.
Overall, the Central Bank noted that 97% of non-food items (243 out of 250) saw price changes of less than 10%, while 66% of services (59 out of 90 types) recorded annual increases below 10%.
