Uzbekistan improves its position in updated FIFA rankings
Uzbekistan’s national football team has risen five spots in the latest FIFA rankings following its recent victories at an international tournament.

The updated rankings, released by FIFA on 19 November, place Uzbekistan in 50th position globally, up from 55th last month. Within Asia, the team has overtaken Qatar to become the fifth-highest-ranked side in the region.
Uzbekistan’s climb comes after a strong performance at a recent international competition, where the team defeated Egypt 2–0 and beat Iran in a penalty shootout following a 0–0 draw in regular time.
Asia’s top ten teams in the latest FIFA rankings are as follows:
18 – Japan
20 – Iran
22 – South Korea
26 – Australia
50 – Uzbekistan
51 – Qatar
58 – Iraq
60 – Saudi Arabia
66 – Jordan
67 – United Arab Emirates
Spain currently leads the global FIFA rankings. The top ten also includes Argentina, France, England, Brazil, Portugal, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and Croatia.
