Gov’t to launch “5 million AI leaders” project to train youth for high-income digital careers
The government of Uzbekistan will launch the “5 million AI leaders” project as a follow-up to the “1 million coders” initiative. Winners of the national competition organized under the project will receive cash prizes, international trips, and electric vehicles.
A government resolution titled “On measures to attract youth to the field of information technology and guide them toward high-income professions by enhancing digital knowledge and skills” was recently adopted.
Under the resolution, the project will hold an annual national competition to recognize participants with the highest achievements.
Prizes for winners will include:
- 100 teachers – cash prize equivalent to $1,000
- 10 teachers – overseas travel packages
- 500 young participants – laptops
- 500 young participants – valuable gifts
- 3 higher education institutions – cash awards
- 2 general education schools – “President’s gift” in the form of electric vehicles
Additionally, under the “Heirs of Muhammad al-Khwarizmi” initiative, youth will have access to:
- Free training in modern digital professions, including IT project management, startup project management, and foreign languages
- Free courses to obtain international professional IT certifications
