Adverse weather forces several flights to divert to alternate airports
Due to adverse weather conditions observed at several airports, a number of flights were diverted to alternate aerodromes for safety reasons. Samarkand, Tashkent, and Nukus airports were selected as alternate destinations.
As a result of the unfavorable weather, the following flights were diverted to alternate airports:
- Fly Khiva flight 2U7623 on the Medina – Karshi route – diverted to Samarkand as the alternate airport;
- Centrum Air flight C63316 on the Jeddah – Bukhara route – diverted to Samarkand as the alternate airport;
- Uzbekistan Airways flight HY9652 on the Kazan – Fergana route – diverted to Tashkent as the alternate airport;
- Ural Airlines flight U62457 on the Moscow – Karshi route – diverted to Samarkand as the alternate airport;
- FlyOne flight 7Q2242 on the Jeddah – Fergana route – diverted to Tashkent as the alternate airport.
In addition, due to weather conditions at Karshi Airport, the crew of Uzbekistan Airways flight HY9624 on the Moscow – Karshi route decided to proceed to Samarkand as the alternate airport.
Furthermore, because of adverse weather at Urgench Airport, the crew of Uzbekistan Airways flight HY51 on the Tashkent – Urgench route decided to land at Nukus as the alternate airport.
