Dense fog and snowfall reduce visibility at Kamchik Pass
Snowfall continues at Kamchik Pass. In some parts of the pass area, dense fog has formed, significantly reducing road visibility.
According to reports, weather conditions along the pass are currently unstable, and ongoing snowfall may cause difficulties for traffic. In certain locations, the thickening fog has further reduced visibility on the road, requiring a high level of caution from drivers.
In this regard, all drivers are urged to strictly observe the following measures:
- do not exceed the set speed limit and drive in accordance with weather conditions;
- maintain a safe distance from vehicles ahead;
- refrain from sharp maneuvers and dangerous overtaking;
- switch on headlights and other lighting devices when necessary;
- fully comply with traffic regulations.
In foggy and snowy weather, braking distances increase, and the likelihood of icy patches forming on some sections of the road rises. Therefore, drivers traveling through the pass are advised to check the technical condition of their vehicles before setting out and to ensure they are equipped with necessary items such as winter tires, chains, a first-aid kit, and other essential gear.
