Syrdarya region secures $300 million in trade deals during Afghanistan visit

A high-level delegation from the Syrdarya region, led by Governor Erkinjon Turdimov, has concluded a successful working visit to Afghanistan, resulting in export-import agreements totaling $300 million.

The visit included high-level negotiations with the Governor of Kabul province, Mawlawi Aminullah Ubaid, the Chairman of the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment, Sayed Karim Hashimi, and the Minister of Industry and Commerce of Afghanistan, Nooruddin Azizi.

The primary focus of the discussions was the expansion of Syrdarya’s export footprint in the Afghan market. The reached agreements cover a diverse range of sectors, including:

  • Food products, including flour and grain supplies;
  • Textiles and ready-made garments;
  • Construction materials and chemical products;
  • Electrical engineering and pharmaceutical supplies.

To ensure the sustainability of these trade relations, both parties proposed establishing direct cooperation ties between entrepreneurs and optimizing logistics chains to ensure efficient delivery of goods.

The visit featured a comprehensive business forum designed to foster direct communication through B2B (Business-to-Business) meetings between Syrdarya-based companies and Afghan entrepreneurs. Additionally, G2B (Government-to-Business) sessions allowed state representatives to engage directly with the business community to address regulatory and structural opportunities.

Beyond the capital, Governor Erkinjon Turdimov met with the head of Balkh province, Muhammad Yusuf Wafa. These talks centered on strengthening trade-economic ties specifically between the two border-adjacent regions, focusing on mutually beneficial projects and elevating bilateral cooperation to a new level.
