Fuel quality verification devices to be installed at all gas stations by 2030
In a move to enhance consumer protection and transparency in the energy sector, Uzbekistan plans to equip gas stations across the country with specialized equipment that allows customers to verify fuel quality on-site. This initiative is part of the "Uzbekistan – 2030" development strategy.
The rollout of these testing devices is scheduled to begin in 2026. According to the strategic roadmap, the government aims to achieve 10% coverage of all gas stations by the end of the first year.
The integration of the testing equipment will follow a progressive schedule over the next several years to ensure a comprehensive nationwide transition. The planned coverage targets are as follows:
- 2026 – 10% of stations
- 2027 – 25% of stations
- 2028 – 50% of stations
- 2029 – 75% of stations
- 2030 – 100% of stations
The implementation of these technological upgrades will be financed through private sector funds. By requiring fuel stations to provide these verification tools, the state aims to ensure that petroleum products meet national standards and to foster greater trust between providers and consumers.
By 2030, every refueling station in Uzbekistan is expected to be equipped with these devices, providing a standardized level of quality control across the entire retail fuel market.
