Nearly 12,500 tax violation reports filed in one month – UZS 3 billion paid to reporting citizens

The Tax Committee received nearly 12,500 reports of tax-related violations in January 2026. Reporting citizens were paid UZS 3 billion in financial incentives over the course of the month.

Under the “Tax Partner” system, individuals submitted 12,486 complaints regarding alleged violations. Of these, 1,739 were not reviewed due to duplication or because inspections were already underway at the businesses concerned.

Based on the remaining submissions, authorities conducted 5,198 on-site tax inspections. Violations were confirmed in 99 percent of cases, the committee said.

The majority of complaints were linked to the following offenses:

  • 10,879 cases – failure to issue purchase receipts;
  • 510 cases – refusal to accept payment by bank card;
  • 34 cases – artificially increasing prices for payments made by bank card;
  • 1,063 cases – other types of violations.

Citizens who reported confirmed violations received 20 percent of the fines collected in 4,782 cases, amounting to a total of UZS 3 billion in rewards.

In 2025, individuals who reported similar tax violations were paid UZS 33.7 billion in incentives. Overall, 98.8 percent of complaints submitted last year were confirmed following review and inspection.
