The case involves a 44-year-old resident of the Olmazor district who was found in possession of 3 grams of hashish during a pre-investigation check. According to the SSS, a senior operative from the Shaykhontohur District Coordination Department of Internal Affairs, acting in collusion with a senior operative from the Tashkent City Criminal Investigation Department, demanded $2,200 from the individual to ensure he would not face criminal prosecution for the drug offense.
The investigation revealed that the suspects had already received an initial payment of $1,000. The primary suspect was caught red-handed by officers from the Tashkent City Department of the State Security Service while accepting the remaining $1,200 inside his own service office.
His accomplice, the senior operative from the Tashkent City Criminal Investigation Department, was also detained in a procedural manner.
The Tashkent City Prosecutor's Office has initiated a criminal case against both senior operatives under the relevant clauses of Part 2 of Article 210 (Bribe-taking) of the Criminal Code. A preventive measure in the form of detention has been applied to the suspects, and an active investigation is currently underway to determine the full extent of their activities.
