The survey, which included more than 2,800 respondents, highlights how different regions and income groups experience price fluctuations across the country.
The data reveals a significant gap in how residents across Uzbekistan perceive the rising cost of living. Those living in the capital reported the highest levels of inflation, while residents in the western regions felt the least impact:

- Tashkent city: 13.3%
- Andijan region: 12.9%
- Fergana region: 12.2%
- Republic of Karakalpakstan: 10% (the lowest recorded)
- Namangan region: 10.4%
- Navoi region: 10.5%
Key drivers of inflation
Respondents identified several essential goods and services that experienced the most significant price hikes during February. The primary contributors to the perceived inflationary pressure include:
- Meat and dairy products
- Gasoline and various fuels
- Fruits and vegetables
- Electricity and natural gas
- Pharmaceutical products
- Transportation and delivery services
The Central Bank’s report also indicates a correlation between income levels and inflation perception. Interestingly, citizens with higher incomes reported feeling the effects of inflation more acutely than those in lower-income brackets.
Individuals earning up to UZS 2 million perceived an inflation rate of 10.4%. In contrast, respondents with monthly incomes exceeding UZS 20 million estimated that prices had risen by more than 14.4% over the past 12 months.
This disparity is often attributed to the different consumption baskets of various socio-economic groups, as higher-income earners are more frequently exposed to price changes in fuel, imported goods, and premium services.
