The launch event was co-chaired by Saida Mirziyoyeva, Head of the Administration of the President of Uzbekistan, and Sergio Gor, the US President’s Special Envoy for South and Central Asia. In a statement shared via her Telegram channel, Mirziyoyeva emphasized that the council is designed to serve as an effective platform for deepening business connections, supported by the strong political will of both heads of state.

Prior to the ceremony, the co-chairs held a meeting to discuss key priorities for future bilateral business cooperation. Sergio Gor also highlighted the council’s establishment on the social media platform X, attributing the launch to the substantial progress made in partnership development through commercial diplomacy over recent months.

The formation of this council follows a high-level meeting between US President Donald Trump and the leaders of the C5+1 format in Washington last November. Since that summit, Uzbekistan has successfully concluded agreements with American companies valued at hundreds of millions of dollars. The newly established council is expected to provide the institutional framework necessary to manage these growing investments and foster further private sector collaboration between the two countries.
