President Mirziyoyev sends condolences to India following fatal storm in Uttar Pradesh
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has sent letters of condolence to the President of India, Droupadi Murmu, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi following a devastating storm that claimed numerous lives in the country.
The natural disaster, which struck on May 13, brought severe winds, heavy rain, and hail to Uttar Pradesh, one of India's most populous states.
Official reports indicate that more than 100 people lost their lives as a result of the extreme weather. The storm also left 59 people injured, destroyed or damaged 87 homes, and caused the loss of 114 livestock. The scale of the destruction has prompted a significant emergency response in the affected regions.
In his message, the President of Uzbekistan expressed his deepest sympathy and support to the families and loved ones of the victims. He also conveyed his sincere wishes for a swift and full recovery to those who sustained injuries during the disaster.
