Tashkent health authorities debunk rumors of pneumonia and allergy spike among children

The Tashkent City Main Health Department has dismissed reports circulating on social media networks claiming a sharp rise in pneumonia and allergy cases among young children in the capital.

According to the department, the epidemiological situation regarding pneumonia and allergies in Tashkent remains completely stable. The city currently operates five specialized children’s hospitals and five infectious disease hospitals, none of which have reported an influx of patients or unusual queues. Officials stated that the lack of crowding at these medical facilities demonstrates that the public health situation is entirely under control.

In light of the rumors, the Tashkent City Main Health Department urged citizens not to believe unfounded and false information spreading online and to rely solely on official sources.

This clarification follows a statement earlier this month from the Service for Sanitary and Epidemiological Well-being and Public Health, which assured the public that the Ebola virus poses no threat to Uzbekistan. Authorities continue to maintain medical surveillance of individuals arriving at the state borders to prevent the entry of infectious diseases.
