Registration begins for Uzbekistan's higher education entry exams
The admission process for higher and vocational education institutions in Uzbekistan has officially commenced for the 2026–2027 academic year. Applicants have until June 25 to register online to participate in the upcoming entrance examinations.
In accordance with presidential decree No. PF-81, undergraduate admissions to higher education institutions will now follow a two-stage mechanism based on the principle of "test first, selection second."
During the initial stage, which runs from June 5 to June 25, applicants must register online via the official website of the Agency for Assessment of Knowledge and Qualifications. While registering, candidates are required to choose their subject block, the language of instruction, and the specific region where they wish to take the examination.
For academic tracks that require exceptional talent or creative skills, applicants must additionally specify their chosen field of study alongside the particular university where they will sit for their professional or creative examinations.
The entrance examinations are scheduled to take place throughout July–August. Once all testing has concluded, applicants will be granted a 15-day window to select their preferred higher education institution, undergraduate field of study, mode of education, and selection priority.
Test results will be published on the day following the examination. The final list of recommended students for enrollment will be announced within one week after the conclusion of the second stage of the admissions process.
To support applicants and their parents throughout this period, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, along with all universities across the country, has established dedicated "Admission-2026" headquarters to provide guidance and counseling.
