Uzbekistan's imports rise 26.7% to $16.4 billion in early 2026

Uzbekistan's total import volume reached $16.4 billion during the first four months of 2026, marking a sharp expansion in the country's inbound trade.

Data released by the National Statistics Committee indicates that imports grew by 26.7% compared to the corresponding period in 2025.

The structural demand spanned a highly diversified global network, with Uzbekistan sourcing goods and services from more than 150 nations between January and April. Despite the wide range of trading partners, the bulk of incoming trade remained heavily concentrated among a few key global and regional economic powerhouses.

China consolidated its position as Uzbekistan's primary supplier, sending $5.3 billion worth of commodities to the republic. Russia secured the second spot with an import value of $3.1 billion, while Kazakhstan ranked third, injecting $1.4 billion into the country's trade flow.

The remaining major share of imports was distributed among major industrialized and regional economies. The Republic of Korea supplied goods valued at $620.9 million, followed closely by Turkey at $559.2 million. Industrial and manufacturing corridors in Southern Asia and the Middle East also maintained a strong presence, with India accounting for $369.7 million and the United Arab Emirates contributing $361.1 million.

Germany led Western European supply chains into the country, exporting goods worth $359.2 million to the local market. The top ten roster concluded with Belarus at $274.8 million and neighboring Turkmenistan at $262.2 million.
