Five arrested in Fergana for selling fake Turkish passports
Law enforcement authorities have detained five people in Fergana region on suspicion of producing and selling forged Turkish identity documents, the State Security Service said.
The operation was carried out jointly by officers of the State Security Service, the Department for Combating Economic Crimes, and the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
According to investigators, a resident of Margilan allegedly conspired with four acquaintances from Fergana to manufacture and sell counterfeit foreign documents.
The suspects were arrested while allegedly attempting to sell a forged Turkish passport and a Turkish driver's license to a customer for UZS 4 million.
During the operation, investigators seized 11 mobile phones and two laptop computers as evidence.
A criminal case has been opened, and the investigation is ongoing.
