Average monthly wage in Uzbekistan surpasses UZS 7 million

Between January and June, the average monthly salary reached UZS 7.09 million, nearly doubling over the past five years. The figure stood at UZS 3.55 million in the first half of 2022, increased to UZS 4.33 million in 2023, UZS 5.1 million in 2024, UZS 5.99 million in 2025 and surpassed UZS 7.09 million this year.

Tashkent continued to record the country's highest average wage at UZS 12.01 million, up 18.2% from a year earlier. Navoi region ranked second with UZS 8.72 million, followed by Tashkent region with UZS 6.68 million.

The fastest wage growth was registered in Jizzakh region, where average salaries increased by 20.4%. Namangan region followed with growth of 19.4%, while Tashkent recorded an 18.2% increase. Andijan region posted the slowest annual growth at 15.1%.

Among major sectors, banking and finance remained the highest-paying industry, with an average monthly wage of UZS 19.1 million. It was followed by information and communications at UZS 17.41 million, transportation and storage at UZS 11.07 million, industry at UZS 8.26 million, trade at UZS 7.65 million and construction at UZS 7.02 million. Transportation and storage also recorded the fastest wage growth, rising 22.8% over the year.

Healthcare and social services remained the lowest-paid sector, with an average monthly salary of UZS 4.44 million, followed by education at UZS 4.97 million. Despite relatively low pay levels, both sectors were among the fastest-growing, with annual wage increases of 20.1% and 20.3%, respectively.

Within individual industries, the highest salaries in the financial sector were recorded in insurance and reinsurance, where employees earned an average of UZS 26.01 million a month. In the information and communications sector, computer programming and consultancy services led with UZS 22.23 million, while in industry the highest wages were paid in mining at UZS 11.7 million. In education, employees of higher education institutions received the highest average salary at UZS 12.04 million, compared with UZS 5.37 million in technical and vocational education, UZS 4.66 million in schools and UZS 2.72 million in preschool education.
