The initiative forms part of a package of socio-economic development measures for 2026–2027 approved by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on July 27.
Under the plan, the combined length of tourist, gastronomic and 24-hour streets will reach 118.4 kilometers by 2030.
Chilanzar district is expected to have the largest number of such streets, with 11 planned. Mirzo Ulugbek, Yunusabad, Sergeli and Yangihayot districts are each set to develop 10. Another eight streets will be established in Almazar, Mirobod, Shaykhontohur, Yakkasaray and Yashnabad districts, while Uchtepa will have six and Bektemir three.
The government has allocated UZS 175 billion for tourism infrastructure projects through the end of this year. The funding will come from savings in the 2026 state budget.
The resolution also calls for the construction of 100 public toilets under public-private partnership agreements. The facilities will be located on central and tourist streets, in public squares and near other high-traffic areas. Land plots for the projects will be offered through a simplified auction process.
In addition, five modern camping zones are to be developed at the entrances to Tashkent. They will be built on the sites currently occupied by Road Safety Service checkpoints, which are scheduled to be relocated to Tashkent region.
JSC Tashkent Invest Company has been tasked with preparing the project documentation for the camping sites. Investors will be selected through open online auctions and will be required to finance the construction of the facilities while reimbursing the cost of project preparation.
