The incident occurred at the mine in the Nurata district, the source said. Reportedly, the injured workers sustained injuries of varying severity.
NMMC has not yet officially commented on the incident or verified the details.
The incident is reportedly the company’s second fatal accident in the past two months. On July 21, a dump truck ran over a passenger car at the Muruntau mine, resulting in the deaths of two workers.
The first blasting operations at the Pistali mine, in the Nurata district, began in 2023. The mine mainly transports rock using Komatsu dump trucks with payload capacities of 55 and 90 tonnes.
