“The Korean business community was represented by Lotte Chemical, Hyundai Motor Group, Samsung C&T, CJ Group, Shinhan Financial Group, Hyundai Rotem, KIND, BOMI, Kia Corporation, Sampyo Group, HansaeMobility and other companies”, the press service of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.
In his address, President Mirziyoyev proposed combining Uzbekistan’s resources, Korea’s advanced technologies and investment from companies in both countries to create new drivers of economic growth.
President Mirziyoyev outlined key areas for expanding economic cooperation, including industrial partnerships and integrated production chains, energy and the green economy, transport and infrastructure, digitalization and artificial intelligence, semiconductors and microelectronics, biotechnology and pharmaceuticals, joint research, advanced technologies and workforce training.
“Korean companies were invited to implement projects in copper processing, electrical equipment manufacturing, localization of components for the automotive and electric vehicle industries, robotics and automation, biotechnology and pharmaceuticals, hydropower, energy storage systems, modernization of energy networks, as well as the development of transport and urban infrastructure”, the statement reads.
President Mirziyoyev proposed creating an Uzbek-Korean Industrial and Technological Alliance to strengthen cooperation between the two countries’ industries and technology sectors. The head of state also said Uzbekistan would continue to support Korean companies and help them carry out joint projects.
