Presidential Administration head Saida Mirziyoyeva discussed the plans with BlackRock executives during a meeting in New York on September 24.

The meeting was attended by BlackRock President Robert Kapito, Vice Chairman Thomas Donilon, Global Infrastructure Partners Chairman and CEO Adebayo Ogunlesi, and Charles Hatami, BlackRock’s global head of financial and strategic investors and head of the Middle East region.

“We discussed the launch of the Tashkent International Financial Centre in 2027. BlackRock is helping develop the concept and structure of the center,” Mirziyoyeva wrote.

She also took part in a roundtable with representatives of the US business community, where participants discussed the development prospects of Uzbekistan and the wider region over the coming decade.

Mirziyoyeva said Uzbekistan was becoming a new destination for large-scale, efficient and high-quality investment.

The Tashkent International Financial Centre is expected to become part of Uzbekistan’s efforts to attract international capital and expand its financial infrastructure.
