Saida Mirziyoyeva, head of the Presidential Administration, has congratulated all educators in Uzbekistan on Teachers and Mentors Day, observed on October 1, stressing the importance of preserving the country’s tradition of respecting educators and passing it on to future generations.

Mirziyoyeva expressed her gratitude to teachers who welcome children at school each day and help them develop knowledge, critical thinking and confidence while teaching them to respect others and love their country.

“I would like to express my sincere gratitude to those who welcome children at the school gates every day and teach them to think, believe in themselves, respect others and love their homeland,” she said.

She noted that teachers have traditionally been held in high regard in Uzbekistan and said she wanted this value to be preserved and instilled in future generations.

“I very much want us to preserve and cherish this value and pass it on to future generations as well,” Mirziyoyeva said.

Wishing teachers well on their professional holiday, she added: “Happy holiday, dear teachers. May all the good you have done and continue to do for your students return to you a hundredfold.”
