The figure was 7.7% lower than a month earlier, according to Central Bank data.

The foreign currency component of the reserves fell by $702.8 million during the month, while the value of the gold holdings declined by $4.8 billion.

At the same time, the physical volume of gold in the reserves increased from 14.1 million troy ounces to 14.3 million troy ounces. This means the decline in the value of the gold reserves was caused by lower prices on the global market rather than a reduction in the amount of gold held.

Gold accounted for 90.2% of Uzbekistan’s total international reserves at the beginning of October, up from 90% a month earlier.

The volume of international securities remained unchanged at $1.8 billion in September, accounting for around 2.5% of total international reserves.

The National Statistics Committee said the Central Bank sold a total of $2.8 billion worth of precious metals from January through September. The figure was nearly three times lower than during the same period in 2025.
