The meetings with representatives of StoneX Group Inc., Visa, Nasdaq, Franklin Templeton and Citi took place in Samarkand on October 19 on the sidelines of the Uzbekistan–US Business and Investment Council. The companies said Uzbekistan’s economic growth and ongoing reforms were creating favorable conditions for foreign investment.

The discussions covered financial market infrastructure, international reserve management and the introduction of hedging mechanisms. Other topics included digital payments, cybersecurity, open banking and improvements to the central securities depository.

The parties agreed to identify further steps to advance cooperation in these areas.

A separate finance and investment session was also held under the council, bringing together representatives of Uzbek and US companies. It was co-chaired by the Central Bank of Uzbekistan and the US International Development Finance Corporation (DFC).

Participants discussed Uzbekistan’s macroeconomic outlook, ongoing privatization efforts and the country’s main investment priorities.
