According to the Ministry of Agriculture, mechanical harvesting accounted for 76% of the total, with Jizzakh region leading the country at 98.5%. Syrdarya region ranked second, with 94.2% of its cotton crop harvested by machine, followed by Tashkent region at 81.2%.
Nationwide, nearly 3,000 modern cotton harvesters collected 3,515,597 tonnes of cotton, accounting for the bulk of the crop harvested mechanically, according to the ministry.
The harvest is still under way, with first-picking operations continuing on more than 49,000 hectares as of October 22.
