Uzbekistan appoints new ambassador to Kazakhstan
Bakhtiyor Ibragimov has been appointed as the new Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Kazakhstan, replacing Saidikram Niyazkhodjaev, who served as the Ambassador from 2018 to 2024.

Ibragimov graduated from the Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies and the All-Russian Academy of Foreign Trade.
He began his career in 1994 in the central apparatus of the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations of Uzbekistan (now the Ministry of Investments, Industry, and Trade). In 2001, he started working at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in the United States as the First Secretary and later as a Trade and Economic Advisor.
Upon his return, he held various positions in economic structures within the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations, including Head of a Sector in the Cabinet of Ministers.
From 2019 to 2022, he served as the Ambassador to the UAE. He also worked as the Director of a Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and as the Deputy Minister of Tourism and Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan.
