Uzbekistan appoints new ambassador to Finland

According to the Dunyo news agency, Uzbekistanā€™s newly appointed Ambassador to Finland, Temur Rakhmonov, officially presented his credentials to Finnish President Alexander Stubb.

Following the official ceremony, a dialogue was held in which both sides discussed the current state and future prospects of bilateral cooperation between Uzbekistan and Finland.

President Alexander Stubb expressed full support for the large-scale reforms being implemented in Uzbekistan under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. He also reaffirmed Finlandā€™s readiness to expand bilateral cooperation in this direction.

The Finnish leader commended the growing political dialogue and trade-economic cooperation between Helsinki and Tashkent, emphasized Uzbekistanā€™s important role in the region, and confirmed Finlandā€™s interest in further developing political and economic ties with the country.

It should be noted that on March 13, 2024, Temur Rakhmonov traveled to Riga in his capacity as Uzbekistanā€™s newly appointed ambassador. Prior to this appointment, he served as Uzbekistanā€™s Consul General in the Russian city of Novosibirsk from 2021 to 2024.
