Leadership of the Higher Education Ministry may change
The Minister of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education Inom Majidov may resign after 3.5 years in office, a number of sources in the government told Kun.uz.

According to the sources, the issue of Majidov’s dismissal is currently being considered. He may continue his service as the rector of one of the higher education institutions.
The ministry’s press service, however, did not confirm the information to Kun.uz. They said an official announcement will be made if any change takes place in the leadership of the ministry.
The sources noted that currently the candidacies of Senator Abdukodir Tashkulov, Rector of the Termez State University, and Avazjon Marahimov, Rector of the National University of Uzbekistan, are being considered to replace Majidov.
First Deputy Minister Uktam Salomov has been relieved of his post. He is expected to be the Rector of the Fergana Polytechnic Institute.
