Serdar Berdimuhamedow elected President of Turkmenistan
Serdar Berdimuhamedow, son of the erstwhile leader of the country Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow, has been elected President of Turkmenistan.

He won in the March 12 presidential election with 72.97 percent of the votes and is elected president for the next seven years.
Berdimuhamedow Jr. was born on September 22, 1981. Prior to coming to the post of the president -- since 2021 -- he had been serving as a Deputy Chairman of Turkmenistan’s Cabinet of Ministers.
