Kashkadarya judge arrested on bribery charges, judicial immunity suspended
The Supreme Judicial Council has lifted the immunity of the detained judge and authorized legal proceedings.
A judge of the Chirakchi District Court for Civil Affairs, identified as A.B., was caught red-handed in Kashkadarya while taking a bribe of $200.
Following this incident, the Supreme Judicial Council convened to discuss holding A.B. criminally responsible under the relevant part of Article 210 of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan (Taking a bribe).
As a result, the Supreme Judicial Council authorized judicial proceedings against the judge of the Chirakchi District Court for Civil Affairs, A.B., and suspended his official authority.
It is reported that, in adherence to the requirements of the confidentiality of the investigation and the presumption of innocence, further details are not disclosed.
