British operator launches $50,700 luxury Silk Road train from Beijing to Tashkent

A British tour operator has announced the launch of a new luxury rail journey along the historic Silk Road, connecting Beijing and Tashkent and passing through five countries in Central and East Asia.

Golden Eagle Luxury Trains said it will introduce The Great Silk Road by Train, a 22-day high-end travel programme that will take passengers across China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. The total distance of the route is 3,862 kilometres, with the journey starting in Beijing and concluding in the Uzbek capital.

According to Travel and Tour World, the itinerary is built around some of the most significant historical and cultural landmarks of the ancient Silk Road. In China, the programme includes visits to the Imperial Palace, the Great Wall, the Terracotta Army in Xi’an, and the Mogao Caves in Dunhuang. In Uzbekistan, travellers will explore the UNESCO-listed cities of Samarkand, Bukhara, and Khiva.

In addition to guided excursions, the tour features a range of supplementary activities, including a camel trek in the Gobi Desert and a scheduled flight to Almaty.

Prices for the journey start at $50,700 per person based on double occupancy. The package includes accommodation, meals, excursion programmes, transfers, and insurance. The inaugural departure is scheduled for September 21 to October 12, 2026.
