Bitcoin traders detained in Tashkent
An illegal deal on the sale of Bitcoin prevented in Tashkent. It is permissible to sell cryptocurrency in Uzbekistan only on the domestic crypto-exchange.
In Tashkent, Bitcoin traders have been detained, the Prosecutor-General’s Office reported.
It turned out that citizen D.K. tried to sell 0.45 Bitcoin to citizen R. with his markup of 5% for $23,400 and 800 thousand soums (one Bitcoin in the course of the transaction was valued at $49,670). Both citizens have been detained.
A criminal case was initiated against the buyer and the seller under two articles – 177 (illegal acquisition or sale of currency values) and 190 (engaging in activities without a license).
