According to him, over the past two years, 15 regulatory legal acts on empowering women have been adopted and sent for execution in accordance with the requirements of international standards. However, senators and deputies are not properly engaged in the performance of their direct duties.
“It is necessary to boost initiatives. In the near future, we need to adopt two new laws - “On guarantees of equal rights and opportunities for men and women” and “On protecting women from oppression and violence,” said Mirziyoyev.
He also noted that lawmaking and parliamentary control should be strengthened to support the family, protect mothers and children, ensure the rights and freedoms, the legitimate interests of women, and enhance their participation in public, economic, political, legal and cultural life.
