Ruslan Mirzayev appointed executive committee head of the SCO regional anti-terrorist structure
Ruslan Mirzayev, an executive officer of the Security Council under the President of Uzbekistan, will head the executive committee of the regional anti-terrorist structure of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
“At the SCO summit in Dushanbe, the Council of Heads of Member States approved the candidacy of Ruslan Mirzayev, a responsible officer of the Security Council under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, for the post of Director of the Executive Committee of the SCO Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure,” he said.
Ruslan Mirzayev will take up his duties on January 1, 2022
Regional anti-terrorist structure (RATS) is an a permanent body of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, it is designed to facilitate, coordinate and interact with the competent authorities of the SCO member states in the fight against terrorism, separatism and extremism, as these acts are defined in the Convention.
In its activities, the RATS is guided by documents and decisions related to the fight against terrorism, separatism and extremism, adopted within the SCO.
RATS interacts with the competent authorities of the Parties, including the exchange of information, and prepares relevant materials at the request of other SCO bodies.
