Uzbek journalists visit the Novovoronezh NPP of Russia to visualize the intending construction of the NPP in Uzbekistan (video)

In Uzbekistan, in the near future, it is planned to begin construction of the first nuclear power plant in Central Asia. Its prototype will be the Novovoronezh Nuclear Power Plant – one of the most modern power generating facilities in Russia.
A group of Uzbek journalists visited the Novovoronezh NPP to familiarize themselves with advanced Russian experience in the field of nuclear energy.
The visit was organized by the State Corporation “Rosatom” in cooperation with the Agency for Development of Nuclear Energy under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
It should be noted that at present, there is a choice of optimal site for the construction of an innovative nuclear facility in the republic. Its commissioning will allow producing energy in a cheaper way.
The Novovoronezh NPP (NV NPP) is located on the banks of the Don River, at 42 kilometers south of Voronezh (Russia). It was chosen as the reference project for the future nuclear power plant in Uzbekistan. So, the organized press tour to the Russian NPP was not in vain. It is from this that one can judge what the nuclear power plant will appear in Uzbekistan in the near future.
The new sixth and seventh power units of NV NPP with WCPR-1200 (water-cooled power reactors) of the generation “3+” use the latest achievements meeting the most modern requirements of reliability, environmental and emergency safety.
This nuclear power plant project is also focused on countries with high seismicity and hot climate. In particular, it is already being implemented by the Corporation “Rosatom” in Bangladesh and Turkey, whose seismic and climatic conditions are similar to Uzbekistan.
Being the most powerful reactor in Russia, the WCPR-1200 has high performance, durability and safety. Service life of the equipment is 60 years.
