Uzbekistan sends delegation to Russia for talks on migrant rights protection
A delegation from Uzbekistan, led by Deputy Prosecutor General Shohruh Aminov, has departed for Russia to participate in the first meeting of the interagency working group on labor migration and the protection of migrant rights. The meeting is scheduled to begin on April 29.
The departure of the delegation was confirmed to Kun.uz by Hayot Shamsutdinov, spokesperson for the Prosecutor General’s Office.
The delegation includes representatives from the Prosecutor General’s Office, the State Security Service, the Migration Agency, and the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Internal Affairs, and Health. The main events and discussions will take place on April 29.
This visit follows a parliamentary inquiry made earlier this month. On April 15, the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis submitted a formal request to Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov, asking for information on the measures being taken to protect the legal rights and interests of Uzbek citizens abroad.
The Foreign Minister was asked to provide details on the actions and initiatives currently being implemented to safeguard the rights and lawful interests of Uzbek nationals overseas.
