Uzbek Commodity Exchange trades in precious metals

The Uzbek Republican Commodity Exchange (UZEX) concluded the first transactions in precious metals. During the exchange trading from March 18 to March 20, only 46,5 kg of silver was sold for a total of 192,6 million soums, the website of the trading platform reports.
According to the results of the last trading week, the weekly stock quotation of silver amounted to 4,142.56 soums per 1 gram. Manufacturers of industrial products with processing capacities, as well as manufacturers of jewelry and other products took part in the exchange trading.
Currently, two contracts have been concluded for the sale of precious metals to the domestic exchange market. In particular, the exchange quotation list includes a contract for an Ag-1 silver ingot with a lot of 500 grams each and a contract for an Au-1 gold bar with a lot of 100 grams each. The daily volume of placing silver on the exchange trades is 15,500 grams and gold - 2,600 grams in accordance with the schedule.
Precious metals began to be sold through the exchange trades of UZEX in accordance with the government resolution of March 1, 2019. The starting price for precious metals is determined on the basis of the last morning fixing of the London Association of the Precious Metals Market in the national currency of Uzbekistan.
