Electricity generation in Uzbekistan rose 7% year-on-year in the first quarter (Q1) of 2026.
In Q1, the country generated 23.317 billion kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity, up 1.471 billion kWh, or 7%, from the same period last year.
Electricity supply to consumers totaled 20.163 billion kWh, an increase of 262 million kWh, or 1%, year-on-year, according to the Ministry of Energy.
Dildora Khashimova, head of the ministry’s Public Relations Department, said systematic work is underway nationwide to ensure the stable functioning of the energy system and uninterrupted electricity supply to households and economic sectors. She added that ongoing efforts to modernize the sector and bring new generating capacity online are improving the reliability of the power supply.
The ministry has also set up a dedicated task force to improve the handling of public appeals, introducing a more structured approach.
The task force reviewed around 33,191 appeals received between January 1, 2025, and March 16, 2026. Of these, 23,261 were re-examined by working groups, resulting in 7,012 additional cases being resolved positively, bringing the total number of satisfied appeals to 16,197 (48.8%).
The ministry said it is expanding public outreach through media and social networks, while enhancing field receptions, call centers and dispatch services to provide clearer information and greater convenience for citizens.
