Egypt's Sisi to visit Uzbekistan in September
President of the Arab Republic of Egypt Abdel Fattah Said Hussain Khalil Al-Sisi is expected to visit Uzbekistan on September 5, this year, reports Kun.uz from anonymous source.
Although official information about the visit of the Egyptian president was not made public, the dates of the meeting and some details were confirmed.
In particular, it is expected that Uzbek and Egyptian officials will reach agreements on transport, tourism, agriculture, health and trade. Investment Minister Nasr underlined the importance of giving momentum to economic and investment cooperation between the two countries, to have a look at the Suez Canal Economic Zone exploring more investment opportunities.
Meanwhile, Transport Minister Hisham Arafat said both countries have a similar infrastructure with regard to roads and railways, adding that Egypt can draw on Uzbekistan’s expertise in maintaining railways.
On May 1 of 1992, the Uzbek side signed documents on the establishment of diplomatic relations with Egypt. In July of this year, the delegation of the Egyptian Arab Republic paid a visit to Tashkent.
In 2007, former the first President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov received the Minister of International Cooperation of the Arab Republic of Egypt Foiza Abunnaho in Oksaray, the official residence of uzbek leader.
Mrs. Foiza Abunnaho presented a letter to Islam Karimov from Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak. In the same year, Islam Karimov made an official visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt.
