Uzbekistan announces scheme for restriction of access to information resources
Decree of the Cabinet of Ministers "On Measures to Further Improve Information Security on the World Wide Web" is adopted.
The Ministry of Information Technologies and Communications of the Republic of Uzbekistan is a specially authorized body to restrict access to information resources on the Internet.
The above-mentioned organization will be responsible for undertaking organizational and program-technical measures to limit access to information resources.
The restriction of access applies only to the information resources, which are included in the special Information Identification List, and will be implemented within twelve hours after the information is entered into it.
Internet users will be provided with the following information, when access is denied to certain resources:
- a note, showing that the data being browsed is included in the Information Identification List;
- contact information for reference.
Besides, the Decree of the Cabinet of Ministers approved the Regulation “On the procedure for restriction of access to the Internet web site and/or website pages that contain information prohibited to be distributed by the legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan.”
Furthermore, the scheme for restriction of access to the Internet web site and/or website pages, which contain information prohibited to be distributed by the legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, is also presented.
