Uzbekistan National Team could not defeat Syria in Héctor Cúper’s debut match

Uzbekistan national team played a friendly match against Syria in Tashkent on September 6. It was the first match of the “White Wolves” under Héctor Cúper’s coaching.

The first half of the game went under the guests’ domination. They created more chances and could have even scored the first goal of the match, but the Uzbek goalkeeper rejected all their attempts.

Our players became more active in the second half. They boosted series of attacks and gained a penalty kick against the opponents’ goalpost. Marat Bikmayev, a forward of the Uzbek team, netted the penalty decisively, opening the score in the game.

However, Uzbek National Team could not hold the victory. Nesterov conceded an equalizing header by Omar al Soma on the 78th minute of the match.

The score remained unchanged for the rest of the game.
