Uzbekistan is among countries with high level of development, the UN says

Uzbekistan entered the group of countries with a high level of human development. This is stated in the report of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).

The report was presented yesterday at the UN headquarters in New York.

In total, 189 countries got into the rating, among which Uzbekistan was on the 105th line.

The countries topping the list were Norway, Switzerland and Australia.

Turkmenistan was ranked 108th in the list. Moldova and Tajikistan entered the category of states with an average level of development and settled at 112th and 127th positions respectively.

Russia was in the group of countries with highest level of development and occupied the 49th line.

The Human Development Index (HDI) is a statistical tool used to measure a country's overall achievement in its social and economic dimensions. The social and economic dimensions of a country are based on the health of people, their level of education attainment and their standard of living.
