Bukhara passenger bus crash kills 5 people, injures 21 others
On September 18, at 08:30 in the morning, a passenger bus on the Bukhara-Karovulbozor highway, passing through Kagan district of Bukhara region, had a traffic accident.
The Ministry of Emergencies reported that as a result of the accident the gas cylinder of the bus exploded, killing 4 people on the spot. Later, the Ministry of Health said another passenger died in hospital.
There were 28 people on the bus.
Five of the passengers were hospitalized in serious condition in the Bukhara branch of the Republican Scientific Center for Emergency Medical Care. The condition of other seven is said to be moderate and nine slightly injured. They were taken to the emergency department of the Kagan city medical association.
“All necessary measures have been taken to provide emergency assistance to the injured and intensive care specialists together with surgeons and neurosurgeons were sent to the spot through air ambulance,” reads the Ministry of Health’s report.
To investigate the causes of the crash, a state commission was formed.
Currently a case is underway to identify the personalities of the victims.
